ABU IDRT Diploma Admission Form 2021/2022

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Institute for Development Research and Training,  Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria  Diploma programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session.

ABU IDRT Diploma Courses, Requirements, Duration & Fees

1. Diploma in Mass Communication
Entry Requirements:

• 5 credits in WAEC/NECO SSE/GCE ‘O’ level papers including the following:
  • English Language
  • Economics or Commerce
  • Government or History
  • Hausa or English Literature
  • IRK/CRK, Civics or Geography
• Also, a minimum of Pass in Mathematics is required.

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N58,500.00 per session

2. Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies
Entry Requirements:

• 5 credits at ‘O’ Level including English, Government/History
• At least a Pass in Mathematics

Duration: 4 semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N55,500.00 per session

3. Diploma in Social Work and Development Studies
Entry Requirements:

• 5 credits at ‘O’ level including English.
• At least a Pass in Mathematics

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N45,000.00 per session

4. Diploma in Industrial Design with Specialization in one of the following:

• Ceramics (N45,500 per session)
• Textile Science and Reproduction (N58,500 per session)
• Textile Fashion Design (N48,500 per session)
• Graphic Design & Illustration (N50,500 per session)

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Entry Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 credit passes from WAEC or NECO obtained in not more than two sittings which must include English as well as Fine Arts or Technical Drawing or Creative Arts or Clothing and Textiles OR
• Grade II Teachers’ Certificate with 4 credit passes, including English, OR
• C.E. with 4 passes at Credit level, including English, OR
• Certificate in Ceramics or Graphics or Textiles Design and Production or Textile Fashion Design from recognized institutions passed at merit level, plus 4 relevant credit passes, including English.

5. Diploma in Glass Technology
Entry Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 Credit passes from WAEC/NECO, which must include English and Chemistry or Physics
• Certificate in Glass Technology or Certificate in Laboratory Glass Blowing from a recognized institution passed at merit level + credit in English

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N58,000.00 per session

6. Diploma-Foreign Languages and Diplomatic Studies
Entry Requirements:-

• A minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in humanities (and English Language) obtained in not more than two sittings.

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N43,500.00 per session

7. Diploma in Heritage Studies
Entry Requirements:

• 5 credits at Olevel including English and at At least a Pass in Mathematics.

Duration: 4 Semester (2 sessions)
Fees: 50,000 per session

8. Diploma in the Arabic Language
Entry Requirement:

• A minimum of 5 Credit OLevel Credit passes in humanities and Engish Language) obtained in not more than two seatings including Arabic Language.
• A certificate in the Arabic language from a recognized institution passed at merit level will be an added advantage.

Duration: 4 semester (2 sessions)
Fees: N43,50 per session

9. Diploma in Fine Arts
Entry Requirement:

• A minimum of 5 credit passes from WAEC/NECO obtained in not more than two seatings which must include English as well as in any of Technical Drawing or Creative Arts
• A Grade ll Teachers Certificate with 4 credits including English language or
• GCE with passes at Credit level including English language.

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 sessions)
Fees: N50,000

10. Diploma in Hausa Translation
Entry Requirement:

• Minimum of 5 Credits: OLevel Credit passes in humanities (and English Language) obtained in not more than two sittings including Hausa Language.
• A Certificate in Hausa language from a recognized institution passed merit level will be an added advantage.

Duration: 4 Semester (2 sessions)
 Fees: N55,500 per session

How to Apply for ABU IDRT Diploma Admission Form

Applications should be made on-line on payment of the prescribed application fee (i.e N2,000:00). Candidates are to visit A.B.U. Portal, http://forms.abu.edu.ng/otherforms/ and generate Transaction ID, with which they will proceed to the bank to pay before coming back to the Portal to fill the form.
