ABU Screening Exercise for 2025/2026 Newly Admitted Students
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has fixed the screening and certificate verification for students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session. Newly admitted candidates are expected to take part in this process so that their admission and records can be confirmed.
The screening covers online steps on the Post-UTME portal and in-person checks of original documents.
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) screening schedule for 2025/2026
The screening and verification for newly admitted students will hold in two phases:
- First phase: 1 December to 15 December 2025
- Second phase: from 6 January 2026
Students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session are to attend the exercise during these stated periods, as directed by the university management.
Documents for online upload on the Post-UTME portal
Before the physical screening, students are to visit the university Post-UTME portal and upload clear copies of the following documents:
- JAMB result slip (for UTME students)
- JAMB admission letter
- NIN slip
- Indigene certificate
- Birth certificate
- O’ level certificate(s) or statement of result(s)
- A’ level certificates or statement of results (for DE students)
- Attestation letter or affidavit, if any
Each upload should be readable so that the university can confirm the details without delay.
Documents to present during physical screening
During the screening exercise, students must present these items for checking:
- Scratch cards or PINs used for checking their O’ level results, to allow direct online verification.
- Original A’ level certificates. If the original A’ level certificate is not yet ready, a certified true copy must be presented.
These documents are needed so that the grades and personal data supplied on the portal match the records from the examining bodies.
Portal access, school charges and bed space rules
During the screening period, students will be enabled on the university portal so that they can:
- Generate a REMITA reference for payment of school charges.
- Print the university admission letter from the portal.
- Reserve a bed space through the same portal.
Students are strongly warned not to sell, buy or give out any bed space. Any form of bed space selling or buying is not allowed and attracts a penalty from the university.
