ABU Approves Amnesty for Overstayed Students with Pending Courses
ABU Zaria has approved amnesty for students who overstayed between 2021 and 2024. Those with incomplete courses can now return to complete them. Read on for full details and deadlines.
The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has given some breathing room to students whose academic time ran out before they could finish. At its 550th regular meeting held on 29 May 2025, the Senate looked into the matter of overstayed students and made a clear decision.

What the Amnesty Covers
Students whose residency expired during the 2021/2022 or 2023/2024 academic sessions and still have outstanding courses can now go back and register for those courses.

- Register for your pending courses in the second semester of 2024/2025
- Or during the first semester of 2025/2026
- This is your chance to complete whatever is left and graduate
