AFUSTA Lecture Resumption and Returning Students Registration Guide: Deadline and Late Registration

The management of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA), formerly known as Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA), has announced the start of lectures and released registration guidelines for returning students.

The notice came through an internal memo from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), addressed to Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments. Returning students are expected to read the directives and act on them; the school wants compliance across faculties.

What the memo says about lectures

AFUSTA states that lectures have officially commenced. The memo also states that lectures are ongoing across all faculties; returning students are expected to resume class work and keep up with teaching schedules.

Lecture attendance is mandatory; lecturers will be taking attendance.

Registration deadline for returning students

AFUSTA directs all returning students to complete registration on or before 31 Jan 2026. This is the main deadline; students who have not finalised registration are expected to complete it within the given window.

Late registration window

AFUSTA allows late registration from 2 Feb 2026 to 6 February 2026. Students who miss the first deadline can still register within this period; the memo treats it as a separate window.

What happens after the late registration period

AFUSTA states that students who fail to complete registration after the late registration period may be required to defer the session. That is the consequence listed in the memo; students who want to stay in the session should handle registration early and avoid delays.

Compliance note from management

The university management advised students to comply strictly with the directives to avoid academic setbacks. The instruction covers registration and lecture attendance; students are expected to keep records, follow department guidance, and meet the stated dates.

Memo signatory

The memo was signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Yakubu Yahaya.
