Al-Hikmah University names Prof. Oladimeji as new Vice-Chancellor

Governing Council confirms 6th Vice-Chancellor
Al-Hikmah University has named Professor Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji as its 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Before this appointment, Prof. Oladimeji led the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as Dean. But his service to the school runs much deeper than a single role.
A familiar face in Al-Hikmah’s leadership
Over the years, Prof. Oladimeji has helped shape the university. He was:
- The first Head of the Islamic Studies Department
- Part of the University Senate since inception
- The first Registrar and Secretary to Council
- Founding Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies
- Former Director of both CRIIC and the Information Unit
- Former Director of Academic Planning
- Most recently, Deputy Vice-Chancellor
In 2022, he also gave the university’s first-ever inaugural lecture, titled “Roving Preachers of the Message: Deconstructing Da’wah Across Borders”.
