ASUU to Call Off 8-Month-Old Strike Soon – Falana
By Olusegun Fapohunda Updated on
Femi Falana, a prominent human rights lawyer, has stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will soon end its nearly eight-month strike.
Falana, the ASUU’s counsel, said this during the book launch of Lanre Arogundade’s ‘Breaking Coconut With Your Head’ on Monday in Lagos.
In response to the appellate court’s ruling that public university lecturers return to classes, he implied that the strike will be resolved outside of the courts.
Since February 14, the federal government and ASUU have been at odds over demands for proper funding of the university educational system to a global standard.
