Baze University Abuja has released a public statement disassociating itself from individuals posing as admission agents on its behalf and demanding payments for admission processes into personal accounts. The statement, signed by the University’s Registrar, Dr Ibrahim Mani, cautions prospective students and their parents to be vigilant against such fraudulent activities.
In the official statement, the University made it clear that it has not authorized any individual or agent to engage in financial negotiations or demand payments from prospective candidates. The school emphasized that all payments related to admission or any other fees should only be made through the University’s official payment portal.
Baze University Abuja is raising this alarm following reports of fraudulent activities by individuals claiming to be agents of the University. These individuals have been reportedly soliciting payments into personal accounts, a practice that the University sternly warns against.
Dr Ibrahim Mani stressed that Baze University will not be held responsible for any financial loss or damages incurred due to transactions with these unauthorized agents. He also urged all prospective candidates and the general public to be wary of offers that seem too good to be true, as these are likely to be scams.
In a bid to ensure that prospective candidates and their parents do not fall prey to these fraudsters, the University has advised that all payments for tuition and related fees should be made via the University’s official payment portal, accessible at https://portal.bazeuniversity.edu.ng/payment.
The statement concluded with a call to the general public to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. The University remains committed to maintaining a transparent admission process and protecting its prospective candidates from falling victim to fraudulent practices.
