The bursary award is open to qualified, bonafide and fully registered Nigerian students in listed universities. It is aimed at undergraduates who are already in the system, need support, and have shown clear academic strength.

- Indigent status must be confirmed by the university Registrar.
Coverage universities for 2025/2026 bursary award
Applicants must be registered students of one of the following universities during the 2025/2026 session.
Southeast Zone
- Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State.
South West Zone
- University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
South South Zone
- Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.
North Central Zone
- Federal University of Health Technology, Otukpo, Benue State.
North East Zone
- Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.
North West Zone
- Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State.
Only students from these universities will be considered for the Chief Bode Amao Bursary Award for this session.
Who is eligible to apply
The eligibility of each candidate depends mainly on two key points.
Academic performance
- High academic performance is required.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the main measure.
- Students should keep full and correct records ready to support their stated CGPA.
Level of study and status
- Applicants must be undergraduates in 200 level at the time they complete the bursary application form.
- They must be bonafide, fully registered students of one of the listed universities.
A key part of the process is certification of indigent status.
Certification by the university Registrar
For an application to be valid:
- The Registrar of the applicant’s university must certify that the student is truly indigent.
- This certification shows that the student needs financial support.
Students should follow the normal process in their university to obtain this confirmation before sending in the application.
How to get and submit the bursary application form
Prospective candidates should follow the steps below to complete a valid application.
Step 1: Download the bursary form

Step 2: Complete the form carefully
- Fill in all sections of the form with clear and correct information.
- Attach all required supporting documents, such as:

- Indigent certification signed by the Registrar

Application deadline for the bursary award
The deadline for submission of all applications is 30 December 2025.
To avoid late submission, students are encouraged to:
- Complete the form early.
- Arrange for Registrar certification in good time.
- Send email copies and, if needed, submit hard copies well before the closing date.
Late applications are not likely to be considered.
