BUK Adult Literacy Centres Registration

By  Updated on

The Department of Continuing Education at Bayero University Kano has announced the start of Adult and Second-Chance Education Literacy Centres. The centres are meant for people who want basic learning, simple job skills, or a return to classroom learning after time away.

The department shared that the programme includes Basic Literacy, Post-Literacy, Continuing Education, and Vocational Education. Learners of all ages are welcome. A young adult who missed school earlier, or an older person who wants to read and write better, may both join. Education, they believe, does not stop because of age.

Locations of the Literacy Centres

The literacy centres are already running at the following places:

The department also stated that more centres will open soon. These new sites are expected to cover more parts of Kano and nearby areas, so people do not need to travel far just to attend class.

Class Days and Time

Registration and lessons take place from Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday and Sunday. Class times are set for:

These hours suit people who work during the day or handle family duties. Many adults find evening classes easier, even if they feel tired sometimes.

Registration Details

Registration forms are free. Interested learners can collect forms from the Department of Continuing Education at the BUK New Site, Gwarzo Road. Forms are also available by contacting the following phone numbers:

The notice was signed by Dr. Auwalu Halilu, Head of the Department of Continuing Education, Bayero University Kano. He asked members of the public to make use of the programme as a way to learn, grow, and create better chances for themselves. Some doors open slowly, but learning often starts that way.
