BUK 39th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has scheduled its 39th convocation ceremony for the award of higher degrees, degrees, and prizes.

The event will take place at the New Campus, Gwarzo Road, Kano.

Day 1: Wednesday, 12 February 2025

Graduands from the following faculties will be honoured:

• Allied Health Sciences
• Basic Medical Sciences
• Clinical Sciences
• Dentistry
• Arts and Islamic Studies
• Communication
• Education
• Engineering
• Life Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Pharmaceutical Sciences

Time: 9:00 AM
Venue: Convocation Arena

Day 2: Thursday, 13 February 2025

Graduands from the following faculties will receive their awards:

• Agriculture
• Computing
• Earth and Environmental Sciences
• Law
• Economics and Management Sciences
• Social Sciences
• School of Continuing Education (SCE)

Time: 9:00 AM
Venue: Convocation Arena

Day 3: Friday, 14 February 2025

The convocation lecture will be delivered by:

• Speaker: Khalil Sulaiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI)
• Topic: Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to National Development
• Chairman: Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology (FMIST)

Venue: CBN Centre of Excellence, BUK, New Campus
Time: 4:00 PM

Day 4: Saturday, 15 February 2025

The final day will include:

• Award of Emeritus Professorships
• Award of Honorary Degrees
  • Col. Sani Bello (Rtd.) – Former Governor of Kano State
  • Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, OON – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, AA Rano Nigeria Limited
• Award of Higher Degrees and Prizes for graduands of:
  • College of Postgraduate Studies
  • Dangote Business School
