By Olusegun Fapohunda Updated on
BUK freshers must register with the University Library from 30 June 2025. Timings vary by day and faculty locations. Read on to know where and what to bring.
If you’re a new student at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), you’ll need to register with the University Library. This isn’t optional. It’s part of your student onboarding for the 2024/2025 session.
The process starts Monday, 30 June 2025, and it’s done in person, not online.
What to Bring
Come prepared with:
- A printed Student Information Form (SIF)
- One passport-sized photo
- Your proof of admission (this could be your admission letter or any official slip)
Without these three, don’t bother showing up. You won’t be attended to.
Registration Timetable
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Try to come early, especially on Fridays when hours are shorter.
Where to Register
This depends on your faculty:
- Law, Agriculture, Engineering, and Communication students should register at their faculty libraries
- Students from other faculties located at Old Campus should go to the College of Natural and Pharmaceutical Sciences Library (it used to be called the Science Library)
