BUK releases second semester results processing timetable for 2024/2025

Bayero University Kano, BUK, has announced the timetable for the completion of activities tied to the processing and presentation of second semester examination results for the 2024/2025 academic session. The schedule covers submission, compilation, and consideration of results at Department, Faculty, and University levels.

The notice is directed at members of the University Community, with clear attention to Deans, Heads of Departments, and other officers expected to keep to the dates. BUK also asked for strict compliance with the approved schedule.

Full BUK second semester results timetable

The approved timetable sets out five main stages for the handling of the 2024/2025 second semester examination results.

Monday, 23 March 2026

The Central Committee on Examinations Misconduct and Leakages will consider reports from Faculty committees.

Monday, 9 March to Saturday, 28 March 2026

This period is the latest window for the completion of marking and submission of raw marks by examiners. The notice states that this falls within three weeks after the last paper.

Monday, 9 March to Friday, 17 April 2026

Departmental and Faculty Boards of Examiners are to consider the results, including Projects. The notice places this stage within six weeks after the last paper.

Monday, 27 April to Monday, 4 May 2026

The Senate Business Committee, SBC, will consider the second semester examination results. This stage comes seven weeks after the last paper.

Wednesday, 3 June 2026

A Special Senate sitting will consider the second semester examination results.

What Departments and coordinators are expected to do

BUK asked Departments to ensure that examiners submit results promptly. The notice also directed Level Coordinators to begin compilation as soon as raw marks are received; that step is meant to support early processing of results.

The University also stated that arrangements would be made for the prompt settlement of External Examiners’ claims through its e-payment policy. Because of that, Departments were asked to ensure that claim forms are completed for signing by External Examiners on arrival.

Notice to graduating students

Departments were also directed to paste the list of graduating students. This is to allow students confirm their registration numbers, the spelling of names, and the arrangement of names before the results go to the Senate Business Committee for consideration. A Small step, yes; still one that can save later corrections.

What the timetable means for the University Community

The schedule gives each stage a fixed date, from marking to the Special Senate sitting. For Departments, Faculties, and central officers, the message is plain: results are to move through the approved channels without delay; each unit has a date to meet.
