JAMB Announces Rescheduling of 2023 Mock-UTME Exam Date

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the 2023 Mock-UTME exam due to a change in the date for the Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly Elections. The Mock-UTME is an optional exam that provides candidates with hands-on experience with the system and allows the Board to ascertain its readiness for the main UTME.

JAMB Registers 1.6m Candidates for 2023 UTME

Over 1.6 million candidates have registered for the 2023 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), according to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. However, 15 culprits were apprehended for defrauding the registration process.

UTME JAMB Cancels Registrations of 817 Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cancelled the registrations of 817 applicants for the UTME following the board's discovery of infractions bordering on the usage of strange biometric fingerprints in the registration process. JAMB discovered that some registration officers in some Computer Based Test (CBT) centres added one or two of their fingerprints to finish the registration procedure for some candidates.

JAMB will no longer register CBT centres not using laptops

According to JAMB, only computer-based testing centres equipped with laptops will be allowed to administer the UTME. Due to rising diesel and facility costs, 2023 UTME candidates would pay N1000 to CBT centres instead of N700, and mock exam candidates will pay N1,000. Oloyede said JAMB would launch its paperless institution communication system on the new digital platform on January 1, 2023.

ASUU Strike: No admission offer has been cancelled, says JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, declared yesterday that the ASUU strike had not affected admissions to universities, polytechnics, or institutes of education. According to JAMB, "No admission has been cancelled for any session or institution except by the senate of that institution.
