The Climate Leadership Fellowship (CLF) is calling for applications for its 2024 Cohort 6. This programme is an exciting opportunity to join the fight against climate change and be a part of the solution.
Climate change affects health, wellbeing, and the environment. Climate Smart Nigeria, in partnership with the Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment and supported by Access Bank Plc, is investing in young energy leaders to drive climate action and energy transition in Nigeria.

Programme Goals
- First-Year Goal: Train 20,000 secondary school students and mentor 200 climate educators.
- Seven-Year Goal: Train 140,000 students as climate champions and 1,400 climate educators.
Programme Outline
- Three-Week Intensive Training: Fellows undergo three weeks of expert training on climate change.
- Live Classes: Each week includes an expert live class.
- Climate Education Toolkit: Fellows receive and learn to use a climate education toolkit.
- Adopt a School: Fellows will teach climate change in selected schools for four weeks.
- Climate Data Policy: Implement a climate data policy in schools and communities.
- Leadership Clubs: Create climate change leadership clubs in schools.
- Innovation Projects: Fellows are encouraged to demonstrate innovation by implementing small climate change projects.
- Climate Champion Award: Top five fellows will win the Climate Champion Award.
Participant Expectations
- Training Commitment: Dedicate five hours per week to training and live calls.
- Teaching Commitment: Complete the four-week “Adopt a School” programme.
- Innovation: Demonstrate innovation during the “Adopt a School” period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Youth aged 22 to 35.
- Education: University graduates.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in climate change and renewable energy.
- Passion: Strong desire to promote climate change awareness.
- Availability: Willingness to teach climate change within the community, participate in training, and attend all virtual meetings.
- Interest: Involvement or interest in renewable energy organisations or businesses.
- Residency: Must be resident in Nigeria.
