General Requirements for Applicants

  • Certificates of degrees and/or diplomas.
  • Academic transcripts.

  • A 500-word statement of intent in your proposed research area.
• Nigerian citizens must provide their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
• Ensure that the institutions you have attended send official academic transcripts directly to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies at Covenant University.

Masters Degree Programme Eligibility

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from Covenant University or any recognised university, with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant discipline.
• Those with a Third Class Bachelor’s degree or an HND (Upper Credit) may also apply, provided they have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in a relevant discipline.
• The minimum duration of study for the award of a Masters degree is two academic sessions for full-time students.

Ph.D Degree Programme Eligibility

• Applicants should have both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Covenant University or any recognised university in the relevant discipline.
• A minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or equivalent (60%) in the Master’s degree is required for direct Ph.D programme entry.
• Those with a CGPA of 3.50–3.99 or equivalent (55–59%) may be considered for an M.Phil/Ph.D programme.
• The minimum duration for the Ph.D degree is three academic sessions for full-time students.

Covenant Business School (CBS) Opportunities

• Master of Business Administration (MBA): Specialisations include Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Real Estate.
• Candidates must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least a second class lower division.
• Those with a Third Class Bachelor’s degree or an HND, along with professional qualifications such as ACA, ICAN, ACIB, etc., must also possess a PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.50.

Additional Opportunities and Programmes
