Whether you are a UTME candidate, a Direct Entry applicant, or seeking a transfer, EDSU offers a variety of programmes to fit your academic goals.

General Admission Requirements

UTME Candidates

To apply for admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), follow these steps:

  1. Application Process:
  2. Entry Requirements:
    • Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents in no more than two sittings.
    • For Medicine and Surgery (MB;BS), the five credits must be obtained in one sitting.
  3. Screening Exercise:
    • All applicants are required to participate in the Edo State University Uzairue Screening Exercise.
  4. Change of Institution:
    • Candidates who did not initially choose Edo State University as their first choice can apply by changing their institution/course of study through JAMB and completing the EDSU online application form.

Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry candidates must:

  1. Purchase the JAMB Direct Entry Form for 2024.
  2. Admission Criteria:
    • A minimum of Merit pass in NCE, Credit in OND/HND, or a University degree in a relevant discipline.
    • Two Advanced Level passes or its equivalent in relevant subjects.
    • Acceptable grade levels in IJMB, JUPEB, or Cambridge moderated School of Basic Studies.
  3. O’ Level Requirements:
    • Candidates must satisfy the O’ level requirements in addition to their higher qualifications.

Transfer Candidates

Candidates wishing to transfer from other NUC accredited universities to EDSU must:

  1. Complete the Online Application:
    • Purchase and complete the prescribed Edo State University Inter-University Transfer application form online.
  2. Screening and Interview:
    • Pass an interview/screening conducted by EDSU.
  3. Admission Requirements:
    • Meet the minimum entry requirements for EDSU.
    • Hold a JAMB admission letter to their current university.
    • Ensure that their academic transcript is sent to the EDSU Admissions Office.
    • Have a CGPA of at least 1.5.

Application Fee

  • UTME/Direct Entry Candidates: ₦2,000 for the Post-UTME/Direct Entry application fee.
  • Transfer Candidates: ₦60,000 for the Transfer application fee.
