Programmes Offered at EkoUNIMED

EkoUNIMED offers a variety of programmes through its Faculties of Clinical and Basic Medical Sciences. Here are the available courses and their durations:

Faculty of Clinical Sciences

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS): Duration of 5 or 6 years

Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences

Each of these programmes has a duration of 3 or 4 years.

Admission Requirements

General Admission Requirements

All candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level exams through WAEC/NECO (or equivalent recognised by the university). These must include:

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics

Candidates must achieve these results in not more than two sittings. For the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, the UTME cut-off mark is 150, while it is 200 for the MBBS programme. Additionally, candidates may need to meet other criteria, including interviews.

Specific Admission Requirements for MBBS Degree Programme (Direct Entry)

Candidates for the MBBS programme should have one of the following qualifications:

• Graduates with a B.Sc. in Basic Medical Sciences or Biological Sciences from a university recognised by EkoUNIMED (minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division)
• At least two Advanced Level GCE passes at acceptable grade levels
• Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) qualifications at acceptable grade levels

Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• Graduates with a B.Sc. in relevant fields from a university recognised by EkoUNIMED (minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division)
• NCE at credit level, ND, or approved equivalents with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields
• At least two Advanced Level GCE passes at acceptable grade levels
• Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) qualifications at acceptable grade levels
