MDCN Grants Full Accreditation to EKSU College of Medicine
Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has granted full accreditation status to Ekiti State University (EKSU) College of Medicine
The long awaited accreditation of the MB:BS programme of the College of Medicine, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has finally come, as the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has granted it full accreditation for five years.
This was conveyed to the University authority through an email from the Medical Council.
With this development, the College can now go ahead to hold the final Professional MBBS Examination very soon.
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor (Mrs) Olubunmi Ajayi, who received the news with joy, appreciated stakeholders, particularly, the Executive Governor and Visitor to the University, Dr Kayode Fayemi, as well as parents of the students for providing crucial financial and logistic support in facilitating the accreditation of the medical programme. She also expressed appreciation to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) for the gesture.
It will be recalled that medical students of the University had stagnated for about 10 years due to non accreditation of the programme.
