EKSU Convocation 2026 Schedule and Robe Details

Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has announced the activities for its 30th convocation ceremonies.
The programme covers graduands, parents, guardians, friends of the University and the general public. It also involves students who graduated in the 2024/2025 academic session in all programmes.

Full EKSU convocation schedule
The ceremonies will run from Tuesday, 7 April 2026 to Saturday, 11 April 2026. The line-up is broad; the key dates are already fixed.
Tuesday, 7 April 2026
The Vice-Chancellor’s press conference will hold at the New Senate Chamber by 11:00 am.
The convocation play will follow at the Main Auditorium, University Campus, by 2:00 pm.
Wednesday, 8 April 2026
The convocation lecture will hold at the Main Auditorium, University Campus, by 12:00 noon.
The convocation lecturer is Professor Ayodeji Oludare Omole, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, and Chairman, Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-owned Universities.
The notice also lists “An Evening with the Vice-Chancellor and Awards of Excellence in Research & Sports” for 4:00 pm at the 3000-Seater Lecture Hall, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Thursday, 9 April 2026
The notice lists three events for Thursday in this order: debate, convocation meeting, and alumni dinner.
In that same order, the times given are 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
The venues listed, in the same order, are the Main Auditorium, University Campus; Main Auditorium, Iworoko Road, Ado-Ekiti; and Alumni Village, Iworoko Road, Ado-Ekiti.
Friday, 10 April 2026
The award of sub-degree and first degree, with presentation of prizes, will hold at the Main Auditorium, University Campus, by 10:00 am.
Saturday, 11 April 2026
The conferment of Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s and Doctorate degrees, along with honorary degrees, will hold at the Main Auditorium, University Campus, by 10:00 am.
Academic robe collection and return date
Academic robes will be available for collection from Faculty Officers or Secretaries of Colleges and Programmes from Tuesday, 7 April 2026, after payment of the prescribed charges, excluding bank commission.
The deadline for submission of academic robes is Friday, 17 April 2026.
The notice also states that damage to, or loss of, an academic robe will attract a penalty fee. No amount was stated.
EKSU convocation payment steps
Graduands are required to make payment through the EKSU convocation portal.
The steps listed in the notice are these:
- Click “Certificate/Transcript”
- Create a profile with correct details and an active e-mail address
- Click “Apply for Certificate”
- Input the One Time Password sent by the bank and make payment
- Enter the graduating year as shown on the Notification of Result
- Enter 2024 if the result was approved in 2024, or 2025 if it was approved in 2025
- Select the correct degree type
- Click “Apply Now”
- On the item to pay, click “Pay Now”
- Submit
- Input ATM card details
- Click “Pay Now”
The notice adds that, after successful payment, the user will be redirected back to the portal.
EKSU payment warning
EKSU states that it does not support payment of fees and charges through any third party.
The notice warns graduands not to release their password or ATM details to any third party. That warning is Plain enough; the payment is to be handled through the stated portal.
The printed receipt of payment must be kept intact, as it will be required for collection of certificates or transcripts in future.
Certificate collection during convocation
Graduands who have completed their clearance will be eligible to collect their certificates immediately after the convocation, after payment of the prescribed fees.
The University also states that graduands are expected to pay the prescribed fees on or before 7 April 2026. Anyone who pays after that date may be asked to pay extra charges.
Requirements for certificate collection
Graduands who want to collect certificates during convocation must present these items:
- Original Statement of Result or Notification of Result
- Student’s identity card or letter of identification from the Department
- Two recent passport photographs
- Evidence of payment of the prescribed fees
- Evidence of clearance from the University
What graduands should keep in view
The dates are now set, and the steps are clear. The robe collection opens on 7 April 2026, the first degree ceremony comes up on 10 April, and the higher degree and honorary degree ceremony follows on 11 April.
The robe return deadline is 17 April 2026; that date should stay Firm in every graduand’s plan.
