Federal Polytechnic Bauchi approves re-sit exams for 2024/2025 students

The Academic Board of Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi (FPTB) has given the green light for re-sit examinations for qualified students from the 2024/2025 academic session.

This decision followed a review of second semester results. The confirmation came through an internal memo released by the Registry, Academic Division, dated 5 January 2026. The approval itself was reached earlier, during the Academic Board meeting held on Monday, 18 December 2025.

Short notice, yes. Still official.

Who can take part

The Polytechnic set firm conditions. No guesswork here.

Only students with carryover courses can register for the re-sit exams. Students who previously withdrew from courses are not allowed to participate. That line is clear.

Each eligible student may register for up to six courses. It does not matter if the courses fall under first or second semester. Six is the limit. No extensions.

Registration must be done personally. Friends, course reps, or roommates cannot help with registration. Proxy registration is not accepted. Full stop.

Fees and academic support

Students sitting for the re-sit exams should not expect any form of lectures or revision classes. The Polytechnic stated this plainly.

Every candidate must pay a ₦20,000 registration fee, plus ₦5,000 for each course registered. Payments cover only the exam process. Nothing else.

Registration and exam dates

Registration opens on Monday, 5 January 2026, and closes on Friday, 9 January 2026. Missing this window means missing the exams.

The re-sit examinations are expected to hold from Monday, 12 January to Saturday, 17 January 2026. These dates are provisional, yet students are advised to prepare based on this schedule.

No extra reminders will likely come.

For students with carryovers, this is a narrow chance to clear pending courses and move forward. Preparation starts now. Quietly. Quickly.
