No long talk, just dates that matter. The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has rolled out its 2025/2026 academic calendar, and whether you’re a fresh student or returning, it’s time to grab your diary.
Here’s what the school year looks like, broken down so you don’t miss a beat.

First Things First: Registration & Resumption
- Freshers start registration (with medicals, ICT training and orientation): Monday, 25 August 2025
- Returning students begin registration: Monday, 1 September 2025
- Lectures for everyone kick off: Monday, 8 September 2025
So, basically, everyone hits the books the same day. No delays.
Matriculation & Those Inaugural Lectures
New students officially join the FUNAAB family on:
- Matriculation Day: Wednesday, 15 October 2025
And if you care about those professorial speeches (some do, some don’t), mark these dates:
- 104th Inaugural Lecture: Wednesday, 17 September 2025
- 105th & 106th: 15 and 29 October 2025
- 107th: 3 December 2025
- 108th to 113th: Scattered between January and April 2026
Missed Registration?
Don’t wait too long or you’ll pay for it—literally.
- Late registration with penalty starts: Saturday, 11 October 2025
- Portal shuts completely: Sunday, 16 November 2025
Once that door closes, it’s shut.
First Semester Breakdown
- Lectures run: 13 weeks
- Exam prep week: Early December
- Exams begin: Monday, 15 December 2025
- Exams end: Monday, 12 January 2026
That’s your first half of the session wrapped.
Second Semester Kicks In
- Back to class: Monday, 26 January 2026
Then it’s back to the grind.
- CATs (Continuous Assessment Tests): Start 13 April, end 24 April 2026
- Lectures end: Friday, 24 April 2026
- Exams run: 4 to 22 May 2026
After that, it’s pens down.
Final Results and Wrap-Up
- Senate meets to finalise session results: Thursday, 9 July 2026
That’s when the school officially closes the session.

First Semester

- 3 weeks of exams
- 6 weeks for marking and sorting results
