FUNATO resumption notice for 2025/2026 session

Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO) has issued a notice to the general public, with focus on applicants offered admission for the 2025/2026 academic session who have paid the acceptance fee.

The University Senate, at its 1st (Inaugural) Statutory meeting held on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, received reports from the University Management and the Committee of Deans and Directors on preparedness for student resumption; the meeting then set out Key decisions for a smooth return and student welfare.

Resumption date

FUNATO will resume the session on Friday, 6 March 2026.

Decisions announced by the Senate

1) 2025/2026 academic calendar

The approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session is available here: FUNATO 2025/2026 academic calendar

2) Matriculation numbers

Prospective students should note that matriculation numbers will soon be allocated to those who have paid the acceptance fee. The numbers will enable students to pay school fees and complete registration as FUNATO students; once the allocation begins, each candidate can move to the next Step.

3) Hostel accommodation

FUNATO says it has taken steps to provide hostel accommodation for students through a public and private partnership arrangement.

The university will provide hostel spaces within communities around the university for a substantial number of students. FUNATO also states that the hostels will be available at reasonable rent rates, with university regulation and security in place.

The modalities for application and allocation will be announced soon; students should keep an eye on official updates.

4) Ongoing admission exercise

FUNATO notes that candidates still interested in its programmes have an opening to apply, as the JAMB portal remains open for a change of university choice. After that change, candidates can proceed to the university website to register for online screening.

Candidates should confirm they meet the advertised criteria for their chosen course; the programme choice must match the stated requirements.

Message to prospective students

The Vice-Chancellor and Senate have congratulated prospective FUNATO students and wished them a “smooth and happy resumption”.
