This is to inform the general public that the Department of Mass Communication in the Faculty of Social Sciences of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti now offers a Diploma in Mass Communication as approved by the University’s Senate.
Sequel to this, the application is hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates who wish to undertake a Diploma in Mass Communication.
The two-year course work and practical oriented programme aim to produce students who will be eligible for a degree or other certificate courses in Mass Communication and its adjunct departments. It also gives them (among other things) the needed training to equip them with skills in expressing ideas, attitudes and feelings through a specific medium, as well as to give them an overview of the theories, models, elements and indeed, progress of communication.
FUOYE Diploma in Mass Communication Admission Requirements & Duration
Duration: The structure of the Diploma programme consists of four semesters of classroom, Laboratory and Studio activities in the institution and a semester (3 – 4 months) of Supervised Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).
Requirements: Candidates are required to possess a minimum Five (5) credits in G.C.E. (0 level), SSCE, NECO or NABTEB subjects passed at not more than two sittings. The subjects must include English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics and any two other relevant subject.
