Beware of False Advertising

The fraudulent scheme involves an advertisement claiming that FUOYE is offering Distance Learning opportunities and Part-time Postgraduate Studies for corporate organizations and interested individuals. This fraudulent admission opportunity, purportedly in collaboration with the West Africa Institute of Policy and Academic Development (WAIIPAD), has been circulating widely. The advertisement states the location of WAIIPAD at 3rd Floor, BASSAN Plaza, Independence Avenue, Adjacent National Bureau of Statistic (NBS), Central Business District (CBD), Abuja FCT.

However, FUOYE has categorically stated that this advertisement did not originate from the university. The institution warns the public to be wary and not to fall for the fraudulent scheme orchestrated by these impersonators.

Official Statement

The university registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, released a statement on behalf of FUOYE, which was made available to journalists in Ekiti State by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede. The statement emphasized that the admission advertisement did not emanate from the university and disassociated FUOYE from the so-called Distance Learning opportunity.

In the statement, Mr. Ibrahim assured the public of FUOYE’s stance, “FUOYE would like to reassure the public that it neither issued any notice nor authorized the purported Distance Learning admission in circulation.”

Call to the Public

The university’s management urges admission seekers and the general public to remain vigilant and steer clear of these fraudulent claims. The public is advised to rely solely on the official university website and verified communication channels for any information regarding admissions and other university activities.

While the university administration is working diligently to address this issue and apprehend the culprits behind this deception, it is of paramount importance that potential students and their families stay informed and cautious, helping protect the integrity of the educational institution and safeguarding themselves from potential fraud.
