Admission Requirements

PhD Degree Programmes

• Eligibility: Open to holders of Master’s degrees with a minimum of 60% score.
• Duration: Minimum of 3 sessions and a maximum of 5 sessions.
• Requirements: Completion of relevant courses and a supervised thesis.

M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree Programme

• Eligibility: Candidates with a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) between 55.00% and 59.99% at Master’s level.
• Transition to Ph.D.: Possible after the first session upon achieving not less than 60% aggregate, assessed by a panel of examiners.

Master’s Degree Programme

• Eligibility: Graduates with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
• Duration: Minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of two years for full-time candidates.
• Requirements: Course work and a research dissertation.

Additional Information

• Programme Duration: Each programme has a set maximum duration. Extensions may be granted for up to 12 months.
• Employment: Candidates in regular employment must submit a formal release letter from their employers.
• Transcripts: Non-FUOYE graduates must arrange for their academic transcripts to be sent directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies.
