The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, Ondo State, on Tuesday called parents and candidates seeking admission into the institution to be wary of fraudsters who parade themselves as its officials.
In a statement by its Deputy Director Corporate Communications & Protocol, Adegbenro Adebanjo, FUTA said: “Our attention has been drawn to a patently fraudulent request purported to have emanated from the admission office of FUTA asking candidates who sat for the last JAMB Examination to send N1000 recharge card to particular number to complete the uploading of their results.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the request is fraudulent and did not emanate from FUTA or any of its Officials.
“Members of the public should be wary of the antics of Fraudsters who may want to take advantage of them. Do not send any recharge card or money or any material in respect of admission process. It is against the law. The admission process in FUTA is entirely merit driven and insulated from manipulation and inducement.”
