FUTA Diploma/Certificate Programmes Admission 2025
FUTA invites applications for its diploma and certificate programmes for the 2025 session. Courses cover finance, forestry, computer, meteorology, sport, library, French, and more. Check all entry terms and apply online before spaces fill.
The Federal University of Technology Akure has released its 2025 admission form for diploma and certificate programmes.
These programmes are run by the Centre for Continuing Education.
You will gain technical training across short and long-term courses.
Some courses run for two academic sessions.
Graduating students will be issued a certificate after completion.

A. Professional Training in Accounting
- ATWA needs credit in English, Maths, and any other subject.
- ACA requires HND, B.Sc. or B.Tech. in any field.
- Programme runs twice a year from January–April and July–October.
- Lectures hold on weekends.
B. AutoCAD Design Training
- Students must have five O’Level credits.
- Professionals need at least five years’ work experience.
- Classes hold on weekends.
C. Certificate in Sports Science
- You must have three O’Level credits.
- A letter from a sports director is required.
- Course runs for three semesters.
D. Certificate in Meteorology
- You must have five O’Level subjects including Geography, Maths or Physics.
- You may also enter with a WMO Class II certificate or 7 years of work experience.
- Graduates of Geography, Physics, or related courses may also apply.
- Programme lasts five months full-time.
E. Certificate in French Language
- No specific condition stated.
F. Diploma in Forestry and Range Management
- See details under item I for requirements.
G. Computer Training (Morning and Evening)
- Executive Certificate in Computer Studies runs for three months.
- You need SSCE or equivalent.
- Advanced Certificate also runs for three months.
- You must complete the Executive Certificate with at least upper credit.
H. Diploma in Finance and Business Management Technology
- Five O’Level credits including English and Maths.
- Other three subjects must be related.
- You may not use more than two sittings.
- Course lasts four semesters.
I. Diploma in Forestry and Range Management
- Five O’Level credits with English and Maths included.
- Matured workers with five years’ experience may also apply.
- Course spans two academic sessions.
J. Diploma in Sports Science Technology
- Five O’Level credits in English, Maths, Biology, and two other subjects.
- Not more than two sittings allowed.
- Course lasts two academic sessions.
K. Diploma in Library Management
- Five O’Level credits including English and Maths.
- Candidates with five years’ experience and a library certificate may apply.
- Course spans two academic sessions.
L. Cisco Certificate Training
- Five O’Level credits in English, Maths, Biology and others.
- Two sittings allowed.
- Programme length varies.
M. TFI – Diploma in Financial Technology
- A computer with Windows or macOS is needed.
- A browser like Chrome or Firefox must be installed.
- You need stable internet.
- A learning platform will be shared after enrolment.
- Programme runs for 12 months.
