The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Students Electoral Commission has released the timetable for the 2019/2020 academic session Students’ Union election.

FUTA Students’ Union Election Timetable

The election will hold as follows:

  1. Notice of Continuation of Nomination & Application – Friday 26th February, 2021.
  2. Close of Application and Close of Submission of Nomination form  – 4:00pm on Friday 5th March, 2021.
  3. Screening of Contestants  – Monday 8th March, 2021.
  4. Release of Screening Result  – Wednesday 10th March, 2021.
  5. Electioneering Campaign Start – Wednesday 10th March, 2021.
  6. Presidential Debate – Thursday 11th March, 2021. 
  7. Election of Hall Executive Council (HEC) – Friday 12th March, 2021.
  8. Election of Students Executive Council (SEC) – Monday 15th March, 2021.
  9. Swearing-in Ceremony – TO BE DECIDED BY THE MANAGEMENT

BYE ELECTION

  1. Application for bye election  – Wednesday 10th March, 2021. 
  2. Close of Application and Close of Submission of Nomination form  – 12 noon on Friday 12th March, 2021.
  3. Screening of Contestants  – Friday 12th March, 2021.
  4. Release of Screening Result  – Saturday 13th March, 2021.
  5. Election – Tuesday 16th March, 2021.
