Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) Essay Writing Competition 2026 Opens for Akwa Ibom Tertiary Students

As part of its second anniversary activities, the Girls in Future Awards (GIFA) has announced an essay writing competition for students from Akwa Ibom State. The organisers say the competition targets young minds and academic excellence; it focuses on Akwa Ibom indigenous students in tertiary education.

Who is eligible

Participation is open to students who meet these conditions:

• Indigenous to Akwa Ibom State
• Enrolled in recognised tertiary institutions
• Residing within Akwa Ibom State

What to send for registration

Interested participants are required to submit specific details by email. Applicants should send the following information to citywatchnewsmedia@gmail.com:

• Full name
• Institution
• Email address
• Course and level of study
• Local Government Area of origin
• Phone number

Deadline for entries

All submissions must be sent on or before 10 February 2026; late entries fall outside the stated window.
