Role of the Registrar
The Registrar serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and reports to the Vice-Chancellor.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily administration and promoting a structured workforce.
The Registrar also acts as the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Second-Class Lower Division or higher in a relevant field from a recognised university.
- A higher degree is an added advantage.
- Membership of a recognised professional body is required.
- At least 15 years of experience in university administration.
- Three years as a Deputy Registrar or Deputy Director.
- Must be mentally and physically fit.
- Age must not exceed 60 years.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Computer literacy is required.
Librarian Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science for Librarians.
- A BLD/BLIS, B.A, B.Sc, or LLB for Assistant Librarians.
- Candidates should be ICT compliant.

- Librarian applications should be sent to librarian@gouni.edu.ng within two weeks.
- Other applications (A-H) should be sent to the Office of the Registrar, Godfrey Okoye University, Thinker’s Corner Campus 1, Enugu.
- Submit 20 copies of a detailed Curriculum Vitae within two weeks.
Conditions of Service
- The Registrar position is a five-year appointment, subject to extension.
- Other positions are for three years, subject to renewal.
- Terms of service are based on university policies and decisions of the Governing Council.
