IBBU management has reinforced a ban on tinted vehicles on campus as a measure against insecurity. The rule, which came into effect on 22nd May 2023, has sparked reactions among the staff. The university assures the action isn't to inflict hardship but to ensure safety, urging cooperation from all.
The management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has reinforced a ban on tinted vehicles on its campus. This decision comes as a precautionary measure to curb insecurity, following approval from the University Senate, which came into effect on Monday, 22nd May 2023.
Despite some backlash from the staff regarding this decision, the University insists that the measure is not intended to inflict hardship on its employees or the general public who own vehicles with tinted windows. Instead, the reinforcement of the ban aligns with the institution’s objective to ensure a safer learning environment, akin to measures adopted by other higher institutions of learning.
The management underlines the importance of this initiative, stressing that its primary focus is to improve campus security. Their decision aligns with the global trend of enforcing more stringent security measures within educational institutions, given the escalating issues related to safety and privacy in public spaces.
IBBU’s administration requests understanding and support from staff and the general public during this transition. They emphasize that the security measures are in everyone’s best interest, contributing to a safer campus environment for both the university staff and students.
The university also encourages all staff members and the wider community to cooperate with the security unit during this period. They believe that collective effort and unity are essential in achieving the set goals of curbing insecurity within the campus, thus fostering a more secure and conducive environment for learning.
Hence, the IBBU community is urged to respect and comply with the newly reinforced regulations, as these are put in place with the sole aim of enhancing security and the overall well-being of everyone on campus.
