The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stopped Law admissions at eight universities for the 2025/2026 academic session. The suspension comes after the Council of Legal Education (CLE) withdrew approval for the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme at these institutions.

JAMB has stated that the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy will last for two academic sessions. This means that Law admissions at the academy will remain suspended for both 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions.

JAMB’s Official Statement

JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the suspension on Wednesday.

He stated that the Board will not approve any Law admissions for the affected institutions during the specified period.

The statement further confirmed that the ban on Law admissions at the Nigerian Police Academy will continue into the 2026/2027 session.
