The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the sale of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Form. It’s pivotal for you to understand that registration is exclusively conducted by JAMB-accredited centres and JAMB State Offices. JAMB Form Registration Period and Cost
REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR UTME ONLY (Candidates are to have valid and functional personal e-mail address before commencing the process)
- The period of registration for UTME candidates, including those from Foreign Countries, is from Monday, 15 January 2024, to Monday, 26 February 2024.
- PIN vending for UTME commences on Monday, 8 January 2024, while it ends on Saturday, 24 February 2024.

- Direct Entry application would commence from Wednesday, 28th February, to Thursday, 28th March 2024. Registration for DE would only be at the Board’s State and Zonal Offices.

2024 JAMB UTME General Entry Requirements
The general entry requirements for admission into the First Degree, National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID) and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes are five (5) O’Level Credit passes, including English Language. In addition, credit in Mathematics is required for science-based and social science programmes.
How to Obtain 2024 JAMB Form & General Instructions
Unique Phone Number Requirement for Registration:
- Each candidate must use a unique mobile phone number (SIM) for registration. This number is exclusive to one candidate only.
- The chosen number (SIM) becomes your permanent identifier for all current and future dealings with the Board.
National Identification Number (NIN) Submission:
- Candidates must send their NIN via text (SMS) to either 55019 or 66019 from their personal GSM number.
- Format: Type “NIN”, add a space, then your 11-digit NIN (e.g., NIN 00123456789).
- Ensure the number has not been previously used for UTME/DE registration.
- Avoid using post-paid or special bundle package lines unless they are specially credited.
Profile Code Receipt:
- A 10-character Profile Code will be sent to the candidate’s phone (SIM) number.
- Returning candidates will receive the same profile code on the previously used number.
- The profile remains constant for present and future applications with the Board.
Importance of the Mobile Number:
- The mobile number used for the text message becomes linked to the candidate’s name.
- It will be used for all 2024 and future communications regarding Application, Examination, and Admission.
- Candidates must remember the SIM number used for vital future communications with the Board.
Procurement of Application Document:
- Candidates must present the profile code at the time of application document purchase (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners).
- An e-PIN will be sent to the candidate’s phone as a text message.
Registration at JAMB Accredited CBT Centre:
- Candidates must present the Profile code and e-PIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre to complete registration.
Completion of Application:
- Biometric capture (all ten fingers) and physical photograph taking are mandatory.
- Successful biometric and photograph capture allows printing of the e-registration slip.
- Fingerprint verification is needed for any further transactions on the candidate’s profile.
Self-Service Option:
- Computer-literate candidates can register unaided at JAMB offices/PRCs.
- Group registration is not permitted.
Examination Eligibility:
- Only candidates who pass biometric verification on the examination day will be allowed to sit for UTME/DE.
- No parent or proxy can transact on the candidate’s profile.
- Candidates with biometric challenges must register at JAMB National Headquarters, Abuja, through JAMB State Offices. They will sit the examination in Abuja on the last day of the national examination calendar.
Retrieval of Profile Code and Self-Service (In Case of Mistake/Loss):
Profile Code Retrieval:
- To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send “RESEND” from the same mobile number to 55019 or 66019 as a text message.
- To reset a lost or forgotten Profile Password, send “PASSWORD” space, followed by the email address from the same mobile number, to 55019 or 66019.
Ticketing (Free Complaints):
- For all JAMB process complaints, create a support ticket at JAMB’s website – www.jamb.gov.ng.
- Go to Quicklinks, then select Ticket/Support.
- Provide your email, name, phone number, and the nature of the complaint.
- Choose a complaint area from a drop-down menu and summarize the complaint.
- Attach supporting documents if available.
- Note: Complaints from third parties are only noted. Writing letters is not necessary; use the ticketing system for prompt attention and documentation.
- For NIN-related issues (e.g., no response or wrong data after messaging 55019 or 66019), use the same process on the ticketing platform and select “2024 NIN-related issues.”
JAMB e-PIN Selling Points:
- Outlets include NIPOST, Banks, MMOs, MFBs, and other participating financial institutions.
Duties of Participating Banks/Outlets:
- Collect Profile Code from the candidate’s phone.
- Collect payment and vend e-PIN by SMS to the candidate’s phone (not dictating or copying).
- Facilitate payment through POS, if necessary.
- Issue evidence of payment.
- Deliver e-PIN to candidates electronically (not handwritten).
Modes/Methods of Payment/Purchase of e-PIN for Registration:
Options include Banks, Mobile Money Operators, and Financial Switches.
Steps for Payment:
- Present Profile Code and pay by cash or ATM card (N7,700 with Mock or N6,200 without Mock-UTME and DE).

Dates and Venue for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
- The 2024 UTME is scheduled to start on Friday, 19 April 2024, and conclude on Monday, 29 April 2024. This includes all nine foreign centres.
Examination Venue:
- The exam will take place at any centre in the candidate’s chosen examination town.
- JAMB does not allocate candidates to any examination town or group of towns other than the one selected by the candidate at the point of registration.
- Candidates are urged to register promptly before spaces in their preferred town or group of towns are filled.
- Examination towns with fewer than four centres are not permitted due to collusion cases among some CBT centres. Consequently, many towns have been merged. Selecting a group of towns means a candidate can be posted to any town within that group.
Optional Mock-UTME
- The Board will conduct a Mock-UTME at all accredited CBT centres for interested candidates.
- Candidates wishing to take the Mock-UTME should express their interest during registration, provided they register early.
- The Mock-UTME is set for Thursday, 7th March 2024.
General Information As Regards 2024 JAMB Form
- Profile Registration:
- Candidates must register their profiles through text messages as detailed before buying the e-PIN.
- Registration Fee:
- The registration fee is non-refundable.

No Regularisation of Illegal Admission
Procedure for Valid Admission:
- All admissions offered by institutions must be from the JAMB website.
- Any admission offer from a tertiary institution without a JAMB Admission letter is illegal, null, and void.
- Accepting admission outside CAPS is at the candidate’s risk, as such admissions will not be recognised or regularised by the Board.
