Kebbi To Train 9,000 Teachers on Teaching Methods
Kebbi To Train 9,000 Teachers on Teaching Methods:
The Ministry of Education in Kebbi, on Monday said it would train 9,000 newly recruited teachers on teaching methods before being posted to schools.
Alhji Samaila Kamba, the Commissioner in the ministry said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi that the training was to equip them with relevant teaching skills in line with current national curriculum.
He said the delay in deploying the teachers was deliberate, as it was meant to ensure that they were well trained before being sent to classrooms, as some of them had no teaching background.
“The date and duration of the training would be announced subsequently, while deployment to schools would be concentrated in the rural areas for improved performance”.
He said school furniture, teaching and learning materials including laboratory and technical equipment for teaching science and vocational subjects, had been procured for schools in the state.
Kamba reiterated the commitment of the state government to the development of the education sector for accelerated socioeconomic development of the state. (NAN)
