Kogi State Poly 33rd Orientation and Matriculation Holds 8 January
The Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja has released the plan for its 33rd Orientation and Matriculation Ceremonies.
The institution says the Rector, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, speaking on behalf of the Academic Board, staff, and students, has invited parents, guardians, key education stakeholders, and the public to attend.
Matriculation details (date, time, venue)
Here is the schedule as stated:
- Date: Thursday, 8 January 2026
- Time: 10:00 a.m.
- Venue: Kogi State Polytechnic Campus, Lokoja
Students who just gained admission should clock this early. It’s a morning event. No late run, if they can help it.
What the ceremony is for
The Polytechnic says the matriculation is part of activities to:
- formally welcome newly admitted students into the Polytechnic community
- help them understand the school’s rules and regulations
- introduce them to the school’s academic culture
It’s a welcome, but it’s also a briefing. New students usually leave with a clearer idea of how things work.
Who is invited
The school’s statement lists the invited groups as:
- parents and guardians
- stakeholders in the education sector
- members of the general public
So it’s not “students only”. People can attend.
