The Stance of the Rector and the Academic Board
Presiding over the meeting, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, voiced his support for the decision. Dr. Usman commended the Chairman and members of the Central Result Verification Committee, as well as the entire members of the Academic Board, for their unwavering commitment to upholding the academic standards of the institution.
He further charged Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments and Units to continue to provide reliable and transformative leadership at all times, which is critical to the institution’s quest for academic excellence.
A Charge to Students
In light of these developments, Dr. Usman urged students to take full advantage of the facilities available for learning within the institution. He reminded them of the need to be law-abiding and to shun all forms of social vices, both within and outside the campus.
Moving Forward: An Emphasis on High Standards and Personal Responsibility
The decision to withdraw students due to poor performance sends a clear message about Kogi State Polytechnic’s unyielding commitment to academic excellence. It highlights the importance of personal responsibility and commitment to academic pursuits among students. By holding students accountable for their performance, the institution is shaping an academic environment that fosters personal growth, academic success, and societal contribution.
As the 2022/2023 academic session progresses, all eyes are on Kogi State Polytechnic, a pacesetter institution that continues to strive for excellence in its academic journey. As students, faculty, and staff grapple with these developments, one thing remains clear: the pursuit of excellence is a continuous journey that requires collective effort and commitment.
