Kano Renames KUST after Aliko Dangote
The Kano State Government has approved the renaming of Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil after billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote.
The Kano State Executive Council (SEC) has approved the renaming of Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, as Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil.
The state commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, who revealed this in a statement on Sunday said the development followed the recommendation of the university’s Visitation Panel.
Mr Dangote is Africa’s richest man and one of the country’s most generous philanthropists.
Mr Garba further explained that the approval has been transmitted to the state’s House of Assembly to study the relevant laws establishing the university and make amendments where necessary.
