Lagos Mandates Private Schools to Register & Validate Data
Beginning on Friday the 15th of July, 2022, all approved, registered, and unregistered schools operating in Lagos State will be required to participate in a registration exercise that will continue through Friday the 12th of August, 2022.

As part of its effort to compile a list of schools that are still in operation in the state, the government of Lagos State has mandated that all private nurseries, primary schools, and secondary schools—regardless of whether they are approved, registered, or unregistered—must upload their information to the state’s website.
Registration is required for all private nursery, primary, and secondary schools, according to the statement.
This is according to Abiola Seriki, the director general of the state’s Ministry of Education’s Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA).
The registration period begins on Friday, July 15, 2022 and ends on Friday, August 12, 2022, according to the release.
It went on to say that there would be a “required registration, data update, and validation exercise for all approved, registered, and unregistered nursery, primary, secondary, and sixth form schools in Lagos State.”
“The school registration and validation exercise is required to determine which schools remain open in the state.”
“The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) is responsible for the standardisation, monitoring, and regulation of all schools (private and public) below the tertiary level in Lagos State, including the construction and management of the state’s private school database.”
Lagos State Private Schools Registration Procedure
To register, all schools below the tertiary level must visit the Office of Education Quality Assurance’s website (www.oeqalagos.com) to obtain the data update form and download instructions for completing the form. You may also access the form by typing the relevant URL below into your browser.
