Sanwo-Olu Cuts Tuition by 65% for LASUED and LASUSTECH Pioneer Students
The pioneer students of the two newly founded universities, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) Ijanikin/Epe and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Ikorodu, would pay 65% less in tuition.
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has announced that the tuition fees that pioneer students of the two newly established universities, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) Ijanikin/Epe and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Ikorodu, are required to pay will be reduced by 65%.
According to a statement signed by Tokunbo Wahab, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, the management of the two new universities, LASUED and LASUSTECH, proposed a tuition fee of N195, 000:00 for their pioneer students scheduled to resume for the new Academic Session before Governor Sanwo-Olu reduced it to N68,000:00 in consideration of the current economic situation and its impact on many parents.
Wahab went on to say that the Governor Sanwo-Olu Administration will not only continue to support the two universities but would work to make them two of the greatest in the country.
On February 8, 2022, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abubakar Rasheed, handed over certificates to the Governor at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja for the two new universities, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).
