Programmes and Accreditations

SHIM, a monotechnic established under the Lagos University Teaching Hospital Act, is dedicated to training mid-level manpower in Health Information Management. ND Admission Requirements

To qualify for the ND programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• O’Level Requirements: Achieve five (5) credit passes in no more than two (2) sittings in the following subjects:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
• Entrance Examination: Candidates must sit for the POST Unified Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve a satisfactory score.
• School Screening: Must pass the POST UTME conducted by SHIM to select qualified candidates.

HND Admission Requirements

For those aspiring to advance to the HND programme, the following qualifications are necessary:

• Academic Prerequisites: Same O’Level requirements as for ND admission.
• Advanced Credentials: Hold a National Diploma Certificate in Health Information Management with at least a Lower Credit grade, obtained from NBTE-accredited institutions.
• Work Experience: Provide proof of one (1) year Industrial/Clinical Attachment from a recognised health institution.
• Email Requirement: A functional email address is required for application communications.
• Assessment: A written test and an oral interview will be conducted for candidates at the School Hall/Human Resources Center.
