Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, to commence the process of awarding Bachelor of Technology Degree certificates to its engineering graduates, instead of the Higher National Diploma (HND).
The Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, who disclosed this at his office in Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta, while addressing reporters, said the institution had been mandated by law to award B. Tech degree in its engineering programmes.
Odemuyiwa said one of the thrusts of the current administration’s policy in education is to “educate for employability through technical education”, hence the need to spur MAPOLY and the Governing Council to implement the B.Tech degree aspect of the mandate.
