MAUTECH Closes Indefinitely After Students’ riot Over Blasphemy
Moddibo Adama University of Technology, MAUTECH has been closed indefinitely following the violence that ensued among students on Sunday.
The Senate of Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, has ordered an immediate and indefinite closure of the school following the violence that ensued among students on Sunday over alleged blasphemous statement, against Prophet Muhammad posted by a student on WhatsApp.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the statement was allegedly posted on the engineering students’ group WhatsApp by a student, a development that angered some Muslims students to stage a protest that turned violent.
The Senate after an emergency meeting, which held on Monday decided to close down the school till further notice.
