BSUAST Staff Vacancies and Recruitment
The Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BSUAST), Ihugh was set up in 2024 by the Benue State Government. It is a public university sited in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.
BSUAST is a research-heavy university with a clear purpose. It brings agriculture, science, engineering, health, the environment, and digital work into one place. The aim is to help with big African needs such as food security, public health, climate resilience, industrial development, and steady livelihoods.
The University’s mandate sits on five linked pillars:
- Excellence in teaching and learning
- Problem-solving and impact-driven research
- Technology transfer and new idea work
- Community-engaged development
- Ethical leadership and global citizenship
The founding philosophy is: “Imagine. Aspire. Innovate. Create.”
BSUAST is building a cross-subject academic culture. It is meant to stay relevant, use digital ways of working, support sustainability, and show results people can point at. It won’t be perfect every day, and that’s just real life.
The Opportunity
As part of its take-off plan, step-by-step growth, and approved staffing plan, the University invites applications from capable and forward-looking people for roles across:
- Academic and research cadres
- Administrative and management services
- Technical, technological and ICT services
- Professional and specialist support services
Recruitment is being done inside a structured staffing frame. This frame follows National Universities Commission (NUC) standards, wider good practice for research-led STEM universities, a digital-first way of working, and lean, agile governance that can last.
This approach is meant to keep teaching loads manageable, give strong research support, and keep admin work running well. It also aims for a healthy balance between academic and non-academic staff, so work feels doable for people.
