McPherson University (McU) Gets New Vice-Chancellor
The Board of Trustees [BoT] has appointed Professor Francis Adegbaye Igbasan as the second substantive Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State. The Nigerian Foursquare Gospel Church owns the university.
He has a B. Tech. degree in Animal Production & Health (1988), an M.Sc. degree in Animal Science (1990), and a PhD degree in Animal Nutrition (1997), among other professional certifications, and he has a number of publications in reputable scholarly journals.
The don, who is from Ode Irele in Ondo State, Nigeria, is a member of several national and international professional organisations and has attended conferences all over the world.
He attended the Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigeria, as well as the University of Ibadan in Ibadan, Nigeria, and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. Professor Igbasan has extensive experience in the university system, most recently serving as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The Vice-Chancellor-elect is an Animal Nutrition professor.
The new leader will take over as Vice-Chancellor designate on July 1, 2022. During this time, the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Agunbiade, will guide him through the transition. On August 1, 2022, he will formally take over as McPherson University’s 2nd Vice-Chancellor.
He has three children and is married.
