The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially published the timetable for the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). If you are a final-year student preparing for these exams, this detailed guide will clearly explain everything you need to know—from exam dates to special instructions—so you can confidently plan your revision and succeed.

NECO Exam Date

The NECO exams will start on Monday 16 June and end on Friday 25 July 2025.

The first set of practical papers begins on Monday 16 June 2025, including subjects like Physical Education, Auto Mechanics, and Home Management. Written papers follow soon after and continue through July.

Follow Special Instructions from NECO

Every candidate must carry a valid photocard.

Use the time written on the question paper if it is different from the timetable.

NECO state offices will fix the venue for these papers:

Group practicals are allowed for these subjects:

Visual Arts Paper IV (Creative Design) must be shared one week before the exam date.

Welding and Fabrication must be shared three weeks before the exam date.

Language subjects such as Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo include literature.

These students get 30 extra minutes:

Blind students must use NECO’s braille sheets.

Give these subjects two weeks in advance:

Use of scientific calculator is allowed.

The following are not allowed in the exam hall:

No result will be given for any subject if Paper I (practical) is skipped.
