The NELFUND Student Loan Application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session is now open. The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that the portal will run from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026, allowing eligible students across accredited tertiary institutions to apply for financial support.
NELFUND has called for continued cooperation from tertiary institutions to make the loan process accessible to every qualified student. Institutions are expected to upload verified records of both new and returning students on the NELFUND Student Verification Portal, which is a key step before any loan application can be approved.

Eligible Students: Newly admitted and returning students in accredited tertiary institutions across Nigeria

- Student Identification: Fresh students can apply using either their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number in place of their Matriculation Number.
- Institutional Flexibility: Schools are encouraged to be understanding with registration and fee deadlines for students waiting for loan disbursement.
- Academic Calendar Notice: Institutions that are yet to begin the 2025/2026 session should formally send their approved calendar to NELFUND for proper scheduling.
- Temporary Registration: Schools are urged to allow provisional registration for students whose loan applications are still being processed, so no one misses academic activities because of financial delays.
