NHEF Faculty Program 2026 Application

The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation, NHEF, has opened applications for the 2026 NHEF Faculty Program.

The programme is designed for Nigerian university faculty and administrators. It is set up to give participants the tools, strategic insight, and fresh teaching capacity needed to compete globally, lead change on campus, and improve student learning outcomes.

What the NHEF Faculty Program covers

NHEF presents the Faculty Program as a focused effort to build leadership strength across Nigeria’s higher education sector.

Through immersive workshops, applied analysis, and structured planning, the programme develops participants in modern teaching methods, research-funding readiness, systems-level thinking, leadership effectiveness, and measurable results on campus. The aim is clear; participants are expected to return with ideas they can put to work.

Who can apply

The programme is open only to faculty members and administrators from NHEF partner universities:

• Ahmadu Bello University
• Bayero University
• University of Ibadan
• University of Lagos
• University of Nigeria
• University of Port Harcourt

What applicants must show

Applicants must demonstrate the following:

• leadership potential within their university
• strong understanding of higher education challenges at system level
• commitment to measurable reform within their university
• capacity for strategic thinking and execution

Selection process

Selection into the programme is merit-based and highly competitive.

Applicants are encouraged to answer all application questions thoughtfully and fully. That point matters; the review process will look closely at each response.

Programme dates and venue

The application deadline is 31 March 2026 at 11:59 P.M. WAT.

The orientation timeline runs from Tuesday, 7 July to Saturday, 11 July 2026.

The location is Lagos State.

Arrival date is Tuesday, 7 July 2026.

Departure date is Sunday, 12 July 2026.

NHEF will cover travel, accommodation, and feeding costs for all successful candidates.
