Nigerian Army SSCC Course 49/2026 Shortlist

The Nigerian Army has released the list of successful candidates for Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 49/2026. The names are on the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal.
Shortlisted candidates are to attend the Selection Board at Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna State. The Selection Board runs from 1 to 19 December 2025. Candidates are advised to be in Kaduna on 30 November 2025 and report at the venue between 6 am and 11 am on 1 December 2025.

Documents each candidate must present
All shortlisted candidates will undergo strict document checks. Every candidate must arrange the documents in a file jacket and bring original copies plus at least two photocopies.
Required academic and identity documents:
- All academic and professional certificates, including testimonials
- NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate, where it applies
- Valid birth certificate from one of:
- National Population Commission
- Hospital
- Local government council of birth
Or a valid age declaration
- Valid certificate of state of origin
- Printed Bank Verification Number (BVN) certificate, authenticated by a bank
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip or card
- Completed print-outs from the SSCC portal, including all referee forms
Service documents for military personnel only:
- Official leave or pass
- Military identity card
- Letter of recommendation from Commanding Officer or Commander
Other supporting documents:
- Scratch cards for online confirmation of WAEC and/or NECO results
Personal items to pack for the Selection Board
Candidates will stay at the Selection Board location for the full period of the exercise. The Nigerian Army will provide accommodation and feeding, but each candidate must bring personal items.
Clothing and footwear:
- Three pairs of blue shorts
- Three plain white short-sleeve T-shirts
- One pair of white canvas shoes or trainers
- Three pairs of white socks
Basic items and hygiene:
- Writing materials
- Bucket and toiletries
- A set of cutlery, including plates and drinking cups
- Beddings, including blankets, bedspreads and pillowcases
Photographs:
- Four recent full-size coloured photographs, standing position, in suit
- Four recent coloured passport photographs
Letter of Consent from parent or guardian
Each candidate must bring a Letter of Consent from a parent or guardian. The letter must:
- Be duly signed by the parent or guardian
- Clearly state that the parent or guardian will not claim any compensation or relief for any injury or death that may occur during Selection Board activities
The Letter of Consent must be prepared at a recognised court of law and endorsed by a Commissioner of Oath.
Screening stages during the Selection Board
The Selection Exercise will cover several stages. Every shortlisted candidate should be ready for:
- Verification of all certificates and credentials
- Physical tests
- Medical tests
- Academic tests
- Oral interview
Any change, correction or erasure on documents will make those documents invalid and may lead to disqualification.
Rules on movement, vehicles and visitors
The Nigerian Army will provide accommodation and meals for the full period of the Selection Board. Candidates must still plan and pay for their own transport to and from Kaduna.
While the exercise is in progress:
- Candidates are responsible for travel to and from the Selection Board
- Personal or private vehicles are not allowed for use by candidates throughout the Selection Board
- Visitors are not allowed throughout the Selection Board period
Discipline and conduct during the Selection Board
A high standard of discipline is expected from all shortlisted candidates. Any candidate who breaks given instructions, rules or orders at any point during the Selection Board will be disqualified.
Because the exercise has a military nature, the Nigerian Army is not liable for any injuries or deaths that may occur during the Selection Board.
Final reminder for shortlisted candidates
Shortlisted SSCC Course 49/2026 candidates must report at the Nigerian Defence Academy Old Site, Kaduna State, on 1 December 2025 between 6 am and 11 am. Candidates who arrive after 11 am will be disqualified.
