Available Positions
College Provost
The post of Provost is open to a candidate with a PhD and at least ten years as a registered educator with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. The role calls for no less than five years of administrative work in a university, a college of nursing or a similar body.
Persons with an MSc in Nursing or Midwifery may also be considered if they have the needed teaching experience, hold NMCN educator status and can show proof of academic growth. The appointment runs for five years and may be renewed.
Head of Department, Nursing
Applicants need a Master’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent field. They must also have at least five years as a Registered Nurse Educator and at least two years of administrative work in a university, a college of nursing or a similar body.
Those with close academic qualifications who meet the teaching and registration requirements may also be considered. The appointment runs for three years and may be renewed.
Head of Department, Midwifery
A Master’s degree in Midwifery, Maternal and Child Health Nursing or an equivalent field is required. The role also needs at least five years as a Registered Midwife Educator and at least two years of administrative work in a related learning environment.
Head of Department, Public Health
Candidates need a Master’s degree in Public Health Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Nursing or an equivalent field, plus at least five years as a Registered Public Health Nurse Educator. Two years of administrative work in a university, a college of nursing or a similar body is also required.
Application Method
Applicants are to submit three copies of their application, curriculum vitae and relevant certificates. These must reach the college on or before Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
Two referees should send original recommendation letters, each with a phone number and email address. A soft copy of the application letter, CV and certificates should be sent to the college’s email.
Placement and Pay Structure
The Provost will receive the minimum pay for a University Senior Lecturer at CONUASS 5, plus administrative allowances.
Heads of Department will receive the minimum pay for a University Lecturer I at CONUASS 4, plus administrative allowances.
