UNIMED Receives NUC Approval for Doctor of Pharmacy and Speech Language Therapy Programmes

The University of Medical Science (UNIMED), Ondo State, has received exciting news from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The NUC has approved the start of two new programmes at UNIMED, bringing fresh opportunities for aspiring students.

These are the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and B.SLT. Speech Language Therapy programmes, set to begin in the 2024/2025 academic session, which starts on 6th October 2024.

NUC Approval for New Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) gave its formal approval for the full-time Doctor of Pharmacy and Speech Language Therapy programmes at UNIMED.

The approval was delivered through a letter bearing reference number NUC/AP/S33/VOL I/40, signed by Abubakar M. Girei, Acting Director of Academic Planning.

The Commission encouraged UNIMED to ensure proper provision of both human and material resources for the smooth growth of these new courses.

Vice-Chancellor’s Response to Approval

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, expressed gratitude to the NUC for their swift action in granting approval.

He stated his appreciation for the trust the NUC has in UNIMED.

Professor Fatusi promised that the university would strive to make these programmes highly successful and respected.

In his words, “I thank NUC for the confidence reposed in UNIMED, particularly with the promptness of this approval, and I assure the Commission of our commitment to making these programmes the envy of all.”
